Skyline Drive is a National Scenic Byway and a listed National Historic and one of America's favorite mountain drives. It is 169 km long road that runs along the ridge of the mountains and gives access to various campgrounds, vistir centers, cascading waterfalls and big meadows. The best time to visit this road is fall time for leaf peeping when basically the leaves changes its color.
Its a beautiful scenic drive that runs the length of Shenandoah National Park in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia and takes about three hours to complete the entire length.
Deer, black bear, wild turkey and a host of other woodland animals regularly cross Skyline Drive, hence be carefully when you drive when you take this route. There are about 75 overlooks and array of recreational activities along the route.
