Route Overview
The Lookout Mountain Parkway as one of America's Scenic Drives. It spans three states as it stretches across Lookout Mountain from Gadsden, Alabama to Chattanooga, Tennessee. Within its 93 miles the drive holds so much of beauty, natural scenic treasures and wonderful things to see like canyons, waterfalls, scenic vistas, unique towns and villages, state and national parks and preserves and many more natural wonders.
The drive is not much more than few hours but it is almost impossible for one not to spend at least a day or two to explore the treasures this drive holds.
Lookout Mountain is one of the south’s most popular attractions; thousands of visitors come to the Chattanooga area. The Lookout Mountain Incline which is one of Tennessee’s most popular tourist attractions also lie on ths route, it is known as the world’s steepest passenger railway.
While the ride itself is worth the trip, the activities on top and at the bottom of the mountain make this one of the south’s most beloved destinations.
